Ms Kanlaya Chularattakorn holds M.A. in Social Development from the Chiang Mai University. She is interested in investigating the impacts of regional development (Greater Mekong Sub-region and ASEAN etc.) on ethnic minorities in Southeast Asia and Southwest China. She has more than 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector in the greater Mekong region, Southeast Asia – especially in managing projects that focus on the ethnic minority groups of Thailand, on Burmese migrant workers and on ethnic Burmese refugees in Thailand. In addition to her regular works, Kanlaya also volunteers for different ethnic minorities’ organizations in Thailand.
Currently, Ms Kanlaya Chularattakorn is managing a small grassroots women’s organisation called “the Indigenous Women’s Network of Thailand”.
