Ms. Marddent is a Lecturer in the Cultural Studies Program at the Institute of Liberal Arts, Walailak University in Nakhon Si Thammarat. She earned a MA degree in Comparative Religion at Mahidon University in 2001, where she conducted research on a range of gender and sexuality research projects at the Centre for Health Policy Studies (CHPS). She wrote her thesis on “The Comparative Studies about Sexual Ethics in Islam and Buddhism Religion” and was published on a series of academic journals. She is currently working as an activist and academic at Walailak University under the Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) Thailand, Institute for Wasatiyah Research of Sheikul Islam Thailand.
