Nuntiya Doungphummes is Assistant Professor at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University, Thailand. Her scholarship focuses on issues of media audiences and culture, corporate image and health communication. Her research includes critical media education, corporate image analysis, and trust rating of broadcasting service, programmed quality indicators construction for Thai public broadcasting service, health communication, and health knowledge management. Over the past five years, her research interest has expanded to incorporate studies of community empowerment, intercultural communication in English language teaching, cultural competency and its relationship to healthcare service and immigrants, and democratic praxis through Thai culture. Her editorial work includes being a reader for several Thai and international journals as well as a guest editor for Journal of Asian Critical Education.
